Miami’s Comedy Documentary Need$ the 305 to Help!

MUCHACHA is a docu-special about Miami comedy (and a literal Muchacha you likely know.)

Brittany Brave has established herself as one of Miami’s most dynamic and promising comedians, captivating audiences with her sharp wit, relatable storytelling, and charismatic stage presence. Born and raised in the vibrant city of Miami, Brittany’s unique perspective on life, culture, and comedy reflects her diverse background and the lively environment she grew up in.

As Miami’s Comedy scene flourishes and evolves, Brittany is producing an epic documentary showcasing the rising stars. She is making something happen in the 305 for her and her peers.

There is an unprecedented amount of momentum and opportunity happening with Miami comedians that even took Brittany by surprise. More shows, more talent, more hustle, more clubs, bigger audiences. People across all disciplines—but mostly creative pursuits— were taking risks and capitalizing on this renaissance. Miami’s a young city (and the only one in the country founded by a woman!) so it reinvents itself often and with even more vigor (and Botox) than before.

All the more reason to question why the Magic City was never regaled as a leader in comedy. Despite our wins, resentment exists that we couldn’t hold court with LA, NYC or even Austin, TX.

If the industry refused to come to us, BRITTANY would  bring something straight to them.

Through live standup tapings, in-depth interviews with Miami comedians and cultural leaders and BTS of both her journey and our beautiful city, Muchacha, tells the stories of hometown heroes. It keeps our imposter syndrome company and forces the big fish to get real about its pond. It exposes what it really takes to make a crazy dream a reality and sheds light on where the Magic City is–and isn’t– so magical.
